What this site knows about you

Almost nothing, by construction. There is no form, no account, no mailing list and no advertising network on Tray Count.

No form, no list, no account

Tray Count has no sign-up form, no newsletter, no account system and no comment section. There is nothing here that asks you for your name, your email address or anything about your teeth, so there is nothing of that kind to store, lose or hand over.

None of that is an oversight; it is the point. Details about dental treatment are health data. Collecting them would place obligations on us that a small editorial site has no business taking on, and no benefit to you would justify it.

What the server records

Like any web server, the machine that serves these pages writes a log line for each request: the page asked for, the time, the browser's user-agent string and the network address it came from. Those logs exist to keep the site up and to spot abuse. They are not joined to anything else, not used to build a profile, and not sold.

Cookies and analytics

This site sets no cookies of its own and runs no advertising network. It does not embed third-party trackers, social widgets or comment platforms in its pages.

Some outbound links are affiliate links, marked as such where they appear and listed in full in the paid-links note. Following one takes you first to a short address on this domain that redirects you to the company, and the company — or the affiliate network it uses — may then set its own cookie to record that you arrived from here. That cookie belongs to them, is governed by their privacy policy, and can usually be avoided by typing the company's address into your browser instead.

Fonts and files

The two typefaces this site uses are served from this domain rather than from a font network, so opening a page does not tell a third party that you did. The same is true of every image: they are drawings made for this site and served from it.

Children

Tray Count is written for adults making decisions about their own teeth, or a parent making one for a child. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect anything from them.

Questions, and changes

Ask the desk anything about this page. If the site ever starts doing something that touches your data — analytics, for instance — this page will say so before it happens, not after.
